Daniel Slocum images outsell Thomas Kinkaide @ SBS Auction.

Thomas Kinkaide is a name recognized globally while Daniel Slocum is not. Thomas Kinkaide has sold millions of dollars in prints, Daniel Slocum has not. If this were a war Thomas would be winning hands down. However, in the small part of the world called Olympia Washington, on May 14th 2010 Daniel Slocum won a battle with Thomas Kincaide for fundraising dollars at the Sunrise Beach School annual auction.

A framed Thomas Kinkaide print sold at auction for $125. Decent price. Thank you to “The Gallery” for donating the print.
I had two images in the auction. “Shadow and Light” sold for $375 and “Comet Falls” sold for $150 (both images retail for $250). The bidding on “Shadow and Light” was so popular the auctioneer asked me if I’d allow a second be sold at the same price of $350 to the second place bidder. Of course I said “yes”. Thomas, tonight I win and am reveling in my victory.
