I recently escaped for a short field trip with Brandon’s 2nd grade class to the Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge. Here’s an image I captured of one of the twin barns erected sometime in the 1930’s. Sorry about the annoying logo on the larger version. It’s there to make it harder for someone to steal and use the image.
Be on the lookout for a late December publishing of American Lifestyle Magazine which will feature an article on Pike Place Market in Seattle. The article will include as many as seven photographs taken by me, Daniel Slocum. I was hired through the freelance website Guru.com.

Now isn’t that an easy way to keep current!
Thank you to all who have visited and have emailed me asking how to leave a comment on a post. Turns out it’s not all that easy the first time you post. Here’s the skinny.
1. If you are the first to comment on a post, click on “No Comments” below the post and you’ll be prompted to login.
2. If you aren’t the first to comment on a post, look for the link showing the current number of comments. Click it and you too can leave a comment. 🙂
3. On the login screen if you don’t have a username and password click the “Register” link (this link works too) and submit a username and email address. The site will then email you a password.
Thank you all so much for your interest in the blog. Have a merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas everyone.
This is the first post on my new blog. It comes as the Slocum family is ramped up for the Christmas season. Yes, I called it Christmas and not “holiday”. If that offends you, you might look for another blog to read as we celebrate The reason for the season, Jesus Christ, at our house.
The kids have been involved in Christmas programs at school. Please enjoy the links to video and slide shows that follow this message.
Feel free to post back comments and be sure to let me know if you have any technical difficulties posting or viewing the media.
