- Thanks to @Ardent4Christ for playin' and singing at Live Out Loud Supernatural Night. It was fantastic. #
- 2 hours running my line trimmer today. My arms are still vibrating and my ears are still ringing. #

Don’t tell my motorcycle but if I had one of these cars I’d probably not use my bike for anything but to hang stuff on in the garage.

I love finding my work in use on the Internet. This time it’s half the globe away on a blog from France named Le Journal du Net. Their post which I translated using BabbleFish seems to be about a new method for computing retirement points.
My image which they sourced from Fotolia is entitled “Count of Four”. The blog author cropped the image a great deal. Click this Fotolia link to find the image in my portfolio and see a full size version.
I took “Count of Four” in Vancouver BC, Canada on a photo shoot aimed at collecting images for upload to the microstock market. I was with a group of photographers who had organized a “roving” shoot of a local market with behind the scenes access to a print shop. The shop owner graciously allowed us free reign to wander around equipment and snap whatever caught our attention. This counter was sitting on a shelf frozen in time at the count of four. Not sure what antique machine it had been in and how many times it had gone clean around and started over but I’m glad to have found it.

Here’s a great 4th of July image! Statue of Liberty was taken from a ferry as the sun was setting. This image sold from my portfolio this weekend on iStockphoto. I’ve been honored to have this image used in at least two education text books. I wonder how it’s going to be used this time.

Going into the 4th of July celebration I wanted to highlight a photo I took in Liberty Park. Liberty Park is in New Jersey just behind the Statue of Liberty. It has amazing views of Manhattan, Ellis Island and Lady Liberty and is a great place to visit.
Within Liberty Park is a war memorial which speaks volumes to the bravery of our men and women in uniform both past and present. Thank you for your service, thank you for your sacrifice, and thank you to your families for everything they give up so you can fulfill such a high calling.
About this photo: I took this photo on a slightly foggy night with the moon directly behind the memorial. The backlighting added such drama to the already moving memorial that I was very emotional. As you can see from the “fotolia” watermark this image is available as a royalty free download through fotolia. Just click the link below for pricing.
I’m not sure what it is about this image that keeps attracting buyers, maybe it’s a focus on everything “Green”, or possibly the growing trend to remove dams in the hopes of improving wildlife populations. While I care about the environment I’m going with “it’s a great shot!”
“Determined Salmon” was captured on the Deschutes River within Tumwater Falls Park, Tumwater Washington. I took several hundred photos that afternoon/evening in hopes of timing one just right. This was the result.
Thank you to the more than 150 people/companies that have purchased the rights to use this image. If you’d like to purchase the rights to use this photo click the image or the link below it to jump to my iStockPhoto portfolio for pricing.

Here’s one of my recent sales on iStockPhoto. The image is titled “Mt. Saint Helens’ Johnston Ridge Observatory”. I have no way of knowing how this image will be used by the most recent buyer but this photo has been featured in TrailBlazer Magazine, a publication of Thousand Trails. Glad to see it sell again. In the left corner the two people there are my nephew and my brother-in-law.

Loved the movie Wild Hogs because I sometimes resemble one of those guys. I’m not a regular “biker” but I love to get out and ride. Today I was in and around Leavenworth WA with Bryan Duncan (@Bryan_Duncan on Twitter), Big Jake, and Rick. Check out this photo of us taken in the parking lot of Lake Wenatchee State Park.
